The field of cardiac electrophysiology is young and rapidly evolving with a wealth of outcomes data continually added to the literature. This chapter provides a contemporary review of common arrhythmic disease entities. It focuses on epidemiologic trends and the impact of cardiovascular intervention in mitigating the adversities associated with various arrhythmic disease states.
