Conclusion: Putting It All Together

  • Joanna Dornbierer-Stuart

摘要

By this stage of the book, it should be clear that there is no single factor responsible for triggering language in humans. Language is both a cognitive and an interactional phenomenon, and its design reflects this fact, with multiple systems superimposed on each other. This chapter reviews the multifaceted aspects involved in the evolution of language, weaving together the intricate interplay of genetic predispositions and environmental influences. It also considers how we can better synthesise the ever-increasing quantities of data from various disciplines, aiming to provide a better understanding of this age-old problem.
