Spectral H∞ Fault Estimation Observer Design

This paper is devoted to the problem of spectral H∞-optimal fault estimation observer synthesis. The designed observer must be insensitive to the external disturbance and react to the fault signal variation timely. Fault estimation problem is actual one nowadays and it has already been paid serious attention. However, in our opinion effectiveness of the observer design can be increased by implementation of the spectral approach in frequency domain to H∞-optimization, based on polynomial factorization and Nevanlinna-Pick rational function interpolation, that reduces its computational complexity. Some theoretical aspects are discussed and scheme of the observer design are developed for practical implementation. Effectiveness of the proposed approach is demonstrated by the numerical example with implementation of MATLAB package. #COMESYSO1120.
