Method for Communication of Participants in the User Interface Design Process
摘要
For technical systems, the basis for the formation of the interface is the functional content. The functional content in the existing interface development methods is formed based on the results of the study of the subject area. The process of researching a subject area is based on the communication of two subjects - a knowledge carrier (user, expert) and an interface developer. Known communication methods are aimed at describing the target object (interface) and are divided into two types. The first type is unidirectional and is implemented in the interview format and is aimed at clarifying the individual details required by the developer. The second type is bidirectional and represents a joint work on the product of the developer’s activity. Therefore, the existing methods of communication are not aimed at solving the problems of the knowledge carrier expressed by the information need. Both types of communication do not lead to the desired result, since they one-sidedly represent the system in the form of an object to be developed and do not consider the information needs of the user. This leads to the need to train personnel (users) to work with the technical system, even though they are experts in the technological process. To solve these problems, the article proposes a new method of communication based on the concept of served and serving systems. Within the framework of the proposed method, a seamless transition from the activity model of the knowledge carrier to the interface model of the technical system is carried out, which makes it possible to fix the idea of the system and the process of its use and ensures the development of this idea up to technical details explicitly and formally.
