Software Model for Study Some Parts the Discipline “Network Technologies” at Distance Education
摘要
Moving from traditional to distance education has some difficulties. They are connected to some topics of discipline “Network Technologies”. The goal of this work is select applicable tool, which can illustrate processes in computer networks, which are researching by specialized equipment (such as oscilloscope). In the absence of such equipment at student’s homes, the solution of problem is to use mathematic and computer modeling. Some different variants of freeware of modeling networks and signals were considered. These variants either not support of modelling of some elements, or they are too abstract. So, we decided to develop new software solution, that implements the mathematics modeling of processes in computer networks, that are executed by network hardware and firmware. Only physical-level (partly channel-level) components models were created. The novelty of the work performed has more educational and pedagogical than technical significance. Students studying the “Network Technologies” course and related courses can study the behavior of signals in wire channels without resorting to buying a expensive equipment. In the future, the list of noise models and the list of methods of physical coding used in production can be expanded. #COMESYSO1120.
