Pervasiveness and virulence of racism in the South animated Queens College students into activism, as we have seen so far. The volunteers and activists we have studied made it clear why they, specifically, became involved in social justice and change. But, as we explored in the first few chapters of this book, how does one’s feelings of unease or discomfort translate to activism?
