Cardless ATM Transaction System

This paper aims to develop a safe ATM system that uses face detection to access the bank account for easy and fast transactions. ATM usage is growing steadily over time, yet fraud is growing quickly as well. Despite its significance in banking transactions, consumers are reluctant to use ATMs because of rising fraud. Hence, the system developed is to create a system that is secure and simple to use to entirely eradicate fraud. Only magnetic cards and static PINs are used in the current system for authentication [Bajaj S, Dawda S, Jadhav P, Shirude R, J Inf Technol Softw Eng (Belgium) 12, 2022]. These magnetic cards are simple to duplicate, and by employing a camera placed above the keypad or shoulder surfer, the PIN is quickly discovered by fraudsters. To lessen various kinds of fraud, create a cardless transaction in an ATM system. The system’s goal is to create a facial recognition system based on image processing that will allow users to access ATMs without using any ATM cards. Therefore, using this system will make it simple for us to complete transactions without having to insert our credit cards, and it will also be secure [Ashwini C, Shashank P, Shreya Mahesh Nayak, Siri Yadav S, Sumukh M, Int J Eng Res Technol (IJERT) NCCDS-2020 8, 2020]. It may be challenging to carry the card at all times, and if we forget the card, using the machine becomes too challenging. To avoid this situation, the system developed will recognize the face and give the user access to a bank account. In a normal ATM transaction, first, a card is inserted then a PIN is asked to access the bank account. In the system developed, the first face is recognized. After successful recognition of the user’s face, PIN is asked to be entered [Nandhini NN, Dinesh G, Cardless ATM transaction using mobile. If the face recognized doesn’t match with the user, then the access request is denied. It is discovered that fraudsters attempt to get the client’s record data that is put away on the attractive strip present at the rear of the ATM card, Secret word is the main character that can be used to validate the proprietor of the ATM card [Shinde VM, Shinde DB, Shinde PB, Wandhekar AV, Kohakade PS, Int J Innov Res Technol 9, 2023]. It implies anybody can get to the record bank through an ATM as the secret key entered is right. Thus, when the ATM card and secret word are lost or taken by anybody, they can pull back the cash from that account effectively without the issue of client verification. In this way, it can be seen that the major issue brought up in ATM card security is client verification (Mandal SK, Singh SK, Cardless ATM transactions with mobile devices.
