Lifelog Learning in Romania

In the last few years, both in Romania and around the world, there have been changes in all areas of the economy. These major changes came with the need for people to be well trained in new fields or new technologies in existing fields. It is almost impossible to send all people back to school, to get them out of work, and to put them back into the education system. Lifelong learning is the solution to this new problem of the 21st century. Adult education in Romania has encountered a continuous and sustained growth in the past few years. The aim of lifelong learning is to prepare people for the labor market which is more and more dynamic and to fulfill their personal goals. The activities encountered in adult education may include formal, non-formal and informal learning [1]. Nevertheless, there are significant challenges in adult education in Romania. One of these is that the rate of adult participation in training and continuing education programs is relatively low compared to the average of the European Union (EU) or other countries in Europe.
