Improving Process, Ergonomics and Product Quality with Collaborative Robots Through Zero Manufacturing Change Time

Quality is one of the key objectives of any organization, both past and present. Nowadays, quality is considered an obligation for any manufacturer that wants to guarantee its customers high-quality products, along with other relevant factors such as productivity and prompt delivery. At the same time, manufacturers must remain competitive in the market by optimizing manufacturing costs. To achieve these goals, manufacturers are looking for solutions that allow them to manufacture products at a speed satisfactory to customers, and at low costs, while guaranteeing the quality of the final product. In this sense, collaborative robots have become an increasingly common tool, especially in the electronic automotive industry, where manufacturers manage to optimize their manufacturing costs and remain competitive. The scientific paper addresses how collaborative robots are integrated using the zero-time manufacturing changeover strategy, with the ultimate goal of increasing the quality and ergonomics of manufacturing flows. The advantages of implementing collaborative robots are presented in the scientific paper.
