Mechanical Characteristics of Green Concretes with Marble Waste

The paper presents the experimental results of studies on green concrete prepared by replacing the aggregates with waste of marble in different dosages. The aggregates sort 4–8 mm and sort 8–16 mm were replaced by the marble waste in dosages between 20% and 100%. The mechanical properties such as compressive strength, flexural strength and split tensile strength were experimentally determined and discussed. The compressive strength and split tensile strength are decreasing when the marble waste dosage is increasing. The bending strength presented high values than the control concrete. The compressive strength and flexural strength in the case of replacing sort 8–16 mm were bigger than that of mixes with replacement of sort 4–8 mm. For flexural strength the concrete with replacement of sort 4–8 mm were bigger than for mixes with replacement of sort 8–16.The use of marble waste for preparing green concrete results in good values of mechanical strengths.
