Mechanical Properties of Lightweight Concrete with Saw Dust Waste

The article presents the experimental results obtained on light weight concrete prepared with saw dust as aggregate substitution, in dosages of 50%, 70% and 90% and fly ash, as addition in the mix. The density, compressive strength, flexural strength and split tensile strength of concrete were experimentally determined at 7, 14 and 28 days. For comparison of mechanical characteristics, a control mix of concrete prepared only with fly ash was used. All analyzed properties of lightweight concrete with saw dust were smaller than that of control mix, but they allow to use this type of concrete in production of construction non-structural elements.
