Discounted Cash Flow Computation Under Fuzziness

In this chapter, we show how the classical terms of engineering economy can be handled under fuzziness. First, we extend the classical operations by using ordinary fuzzy setsOrdinary fuzzy set, then, we present the other fuzzy extensions of the main engineering economy concepts such as intuitionistic fuzzy effective interest rateEffective interest rate, picture fuzzy single paymentPicture fuzzy set present worth factor, and spherical fuzzy single payment compound amount factorSingle payment compound amount factor. Any reader who understands these operations can easily extend the engineering economy concepts to other fuzzy sets extensions such as Pythagorean fuzzy sets, Fermatean fuzzy sets, neutrosophic sets, and q-rung orthopair fuzzy sets.
