Marine Carbonate System Parameters Variability in the Kara Sea in 2019 and 2021
摘要
Our study addresses the variability of marine carbonate system parameters, including the buffer capacity of the Kara Sea ecosystem. We use in situ data obtained in 2019 and 2021 (shipboard chemistry and biology measurements) to calculate marine carbonate system parameters. The results reveal that the aragonite saturation state ΩAr was greater than 1 in the Kara Sea throughout the studied period, with a decrease of this parameter in 2021 compared to 2019. Organic matter mineralization processes were more intense in 2021. The buffer capacity remained in a state of equilibrium, but displayed a tendency toward a decrease.
