Conclusion and Implications

The aim of this chapter is to guide prospective researchers, deaf and hard-of-hearing (DHH) faculty members working at mainstream universities, and both non-academic and professional students who desire to work in DHH academia. This chapter is also intended to enlighten those university administrators who manage the budgets for hiring employees and the cost of accommodations as well as academic service providers. I hope that this chapter will also be of interest and use to faculty members and students with other forms of disability. Finally, I have included Appendices A and B with the information collected by the surveys of DHH faculty members and university students as well as a list of DHH academic networks in Appendix C as a supplemental resource.
