This chapter outlines the author’s motivations to write a book on digital transformation informed by practice. The author reflects upon his motivations to write this book in light of the many challenges facing humanity today. It covers his early encounters with poverty in Egypt, Sudan, India, Sri Lanka, Palestine, and elsewhere.
