摘要

According to current estimation surveys, 18.1 million premature deaths in 2021 are being directly related to cardio-vascular disorders, accounting for about 30% of all fatalities worldwide. The cardiac electrical conduction problem is corrected by a pacemaker whose pivotal function is to maintain the heart rate consistent. The consistency needs to be maintained and monitored remotely for effective delivery of pacing pulse. This necessitates the calibration of pacemakers in inaccessible areas encompassing the conception of telemetry. Designing and calibrating the synchronous pacemaker becomes mandatory to deliver the required pacing pulse for the effective functioning of the heart. The proposed device was designed and implemented using a low noise and high slew rate amplifier. The heart rate was extracted and used to simulate the pacing pulse required by the developed pacing algorithm. The repeatability and reproducibility of the pacing algorithm was statistically validated (p = 0.779) as an evaluation metric to ascertain the relationship between the pre-determined heart rate and the measured heart rate from the proposed design, which concluded that both individual parameters have a strong degree of association. The results confirm that the generation of pacemaker pulse as and when the demand arises from the patient.
