Diagnosis of Echinococciasis: Parasitological, Immunological, and Molecular Tools
摘要
Echinococcosis is a serious zoonotic disease caused by the larvae of several Echinococcus species forming a hydatid cyst, which can parasitize humans and animals. Diagnosis is a prerequisite for disease prevention and treatment. Common diagnostic methods include epidemiological investigation, imaging diagnosis, parasitological detection, immunological testing, and molecular diagnosis. In the current chapter, the diagnostic techniques, including parasitological detection, immunological testing, and molecular diagnosis, were reviewed and discussed.
