Cross- and Multidisciplinary Interventions Used for Echinococcosis Control

Echinococcosis is a complex disease, and the diagnosis and treatment involve imaging, surgery, pathology and drugs. Multiple diagnostic and therapeutic modalities have emerged in the progress of research on the treatment of echinococcosis. Multidisciplinary treatment (MDT) plays an important role in the diagnosis and treatment. MDT can avoid the limitations of single-disciplinary treatment, provide one-stop full medical services for patients, promote interdisciplinary communication, and actively establish and improve treatment principles and clinical practice guidelines based on multidisciplinary expert consensus. Diagnosis and treatment cannot be limited to a simple superimposition or sequential combination of various techniques.
