Introduction

The introduction of the book provides a beginning orientation to Big Beautiful Women spaces and their relevance to a broader understanding of fat life. In this chapter I establish myself as a critical scholar but also as an insider to the scope of my research. The introduction further establishes key definitions that are used throughout the book and lays out the structure for the remainder of the project.
