Literature Review: Types of Rituals

The systematic review of the literature mentioned in the previous chapter seeks to establish the meaning of rituals, religion, and secular practices in society. The term ‘ritual’ has been abused because a ritual is not simply based on the repetition of an action; other factors are also necessary. The definitions provided by anthropologists for the word ‘rite’ have often been contradictory.
