Geothermal energy and exploration
摘要
Our interest in this introductory chapter is in mentioning that geothermal energy implies a secure and stable basic supply of electricity and heat. Besides the advantages (e. g., independence of season and weather phenomena, environmentally friendly character, optically unobtrusive and minor space requirement, optimal energy yield by power-heat-coupling) there is as critical point the reduction of the geothermal exploration risk, which overcoming needs enhanced research activities. The geoscientific basis is explained for the strong conviction that potential methods such as gravimetry and magnetometry are quite competitive exploration methods to seismic in the future.
