A Case Study on the Heritage Fragilities in Hunan Province. Taking Changsha City as an Example

This chapter first interprets the theory of cultural heritage vulnerability and proposes four reasons for the vulnerability of cultural heritage; through the study, it is found that, compared to the cities, the villages have been renewed or replaced under the impact of urbanisation or new rural construction. In this process, there is an evident deconstruction of rural culture, which is located at a lower level of protection and use of rural cultural heritage, resulting in The vulnerability of heritage within the countryside being more evident and more susceptible to external influences. Therefore, the content of this chapter takes the rural cultural heritage of Changsha, a famous historical and cultural city in China, as the object of study. According to the existing administrative division, Changsha City is divided into five sectors: the inner five districts, Wangcheng District, Changsha County, Ningxiang City and Liuyang City, and the types and distribution of the existing rural cultural heritage in Changsha City are investigated and statistically analysed, and the distribution and preservation status of the different kinds of rural cultural heritage are proposed for The study also offers strategies for the conservation and development of rural cultural heritage in Changsha.
