Perspective of Arabian Members of BRICS—New Possibilities Thanks to Expansion

  • Aleksandra Rabczun

摘要

This article scrutinizes the geopolitical intricacies within BRICS and its recent expansion, highlighting potential challenges and opportunities for member nations. While acknowledging existing complexities, it underscores the need for a deeper exploration of conflicts and power struggles, particularly historic tensions between key members like China and India. Economic challenges are noted, but limited exploration of development disparities is acknowledged, suggesting a focus on how these differences impact cohesive economic policies in future research. The methodology is primarily qualitative, lacking in-depth quantitative assessments. The paper advocates for future studies to incorporate more quantitative methods for a comprehensive understanding. The inclusion of Middle Eastern countries raises security implications, warranting in-depth analysis of conflicts, alignments, and broader impacts on global security dynamics. Advocating for research on BRICS’ positioning in global governance, especially amid ongoing geopolitical conflicts like the Sino-Indian dispute, the article emphasizes insights into BRICS’ response to global challenges (e.g., COVID-19, sustainable development). Addressing research limitations and exploring these avenues would enhance comprehension of BRICS and its global trajectory.
