Characterization of Process Families

This Chapter characterizes in general terms the behaviour of three outstanding classes of computational processes working with arbitrary data structures: sequential processes defined by Parallel Guarded Assignments (PGAs), an extension by sequential RECURSIVE PROCESSES which exhibit a mixed sequential/multi-agent behaviour, and the class of TRULY CONCURRENT PROCESSES with PGA components.
