Electrospun Nanofibers for Battery Separators

Electrospun separators can be categorized into four primary types based on their composition and structure: monolayer separators, multilayer separators, modified separators, and composite separators. Monolayer Separator refers to separators containing a single layer of electrospun nanofibers. Each layer comprises a uniform material. Multilayer Separator involves separators with multiple layers of electrospun nanofibers. Each layer is composed of a distinct material, contributing to the overall structure. Modified Separator is derived from an electrospun separator but undergoes surface modification to enhance its surface electrochemical properties. Composite Separator is fabricated by introducing inorganic particles or employing co-electrospinning with multiple polymer nanofibers into electrospun separators. This results in a composite structure with improved characteristics.
