The Use of Mobile Applications in the L2 Learning Classroom: Is it Worth the While?

The use of mobile applications in the field of education has recently become quite prevalent. Mobile learning that could be regarded an extension of e-learning, is an emergent educational approach. The demanding process of creating and managing individualised technology interfaces precisely targeted towards L2 young learners and simultaneously catering for the various ethical and social issues that arise, is definitely a worth mentioned aspect. In other words with the emerging of precision education, a plethora of challenges, of course along with the plenteous advantages that the various technological tools and resources so richly offer, become manifest and need to be addressed. The above mentioned complexities along with a review of the already existing literature are to be put under scrutiny in this research. In this work, it is attempted to ensure that L2 learners will definitely maximize their educational benefits via the use of personalised technological advancements (precision education) and approaches all the while their teaching and learning process will be enhanced and wholly transformed into a positive experience through a humanistic perspective.
