Multi-criteria Model and Digital Technology Enablers for Crowd Selection in the Last Mile Delivery

摘要

Crowdsourcing, an integral part of the burgeoning “sharing economy” has found significant application in addressing the challenges of last-mile delivery. A pivotal aspect in ensuring the efficiency of this process lies in pinpointing the optimal crowd for a given task, a decision that involves evaluating crowds against a diverse set of criteria. Although existing research has proposed various techniques and methods for streamlining crowd selection, there remains a call for research aimed at devising more systematic approaches to improve the accuracy and efficiency of this process. To this end, this paper introduces a Crowd Selection approach, based on the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method. The criteria used were derived from those identified in the existing body of literature. A case study is proposed to provide a practical demonstration of the proposed approach. This paper also identifies the current research and directions in terms of how digital technologies can enable and streamline the crowd selection process to enhance its efficiency.
