The Peer Review Process and Publishing Academic Work
摘要
This chapter provides an overview of the peer review process, with an emphasis on how early career researchers experience this process. The chapter covers research on the characteristics of peer reviewers and the reliability of peer review evaluations and outlines the structural barriers and structural supports embedded in the peer review system. In doing so, Chap. 7 sets a foundation for Chaps. 8 and 9 , which detail specific strategies that early career researchers can leverage to successfully navigate the peer review system on the path to publishing their work.
