Optimizing Your Relationship with Your Mentor

This chapter serves as a continuation of the strategies covered in Chap. 5 . The chapter covers strategies relevant to how early career researchers work with mentors once they have begun graduate training. Informed by strategies for selecting a mentor, the chapter delineates a new set of strategies designed to create an open dialogue between the early career researcher and their mentor, focused on the early career researcher’s goals and training needs.
