Care in the Emergency Department
摘要
Young adults with chronic childhood disease frequently require emergency and inpatient services. Despite their age, these young adults may seek care at adult or pediatric emergency departments. Providers at adult and pediatric emergency departments must apply appropriate triaging principles and consider the individual needs of these patients. Individualized patient care plans may help emergency department providers treat acute exacerbations or complications of chronic childhood diseases, as well as alleviate patient and caregiver stress.
