A Dynamic Language System for Authoring Procedural Scenarios in Virtual Reality Environment Applications

VR (Virtual Reality) applications have been increasingly adopted in Industry 4.0 practices, and this is established with a perspective towards the future. One of the main pillars of VR concerns interactive features. However, for interaction in VR environments, it is necessary for the designer and/or programmer to face some challenges that are present in authoring processes. These challenges are problems that can be solved or minimized under VR design methods. It was proposed to develop a programming language, in high levels of abstraction, as an authorial interface for obtaining objective-oriented (procedural) scenarios of VR applications with interactive resources. To achieve this, three ecosystems fulfill the dynamic functionality of the language. This involves the formal notation of the Linguagem_RV language, a compiler (written in .Net C#), and an application framework (integrated with the 3D virtual environment engine, Unity). The effectiveness of the developed resources was validated, supplying concepts for VR authoring process optimization, considering a facilitated, responsive, and scalable solution.
