Vital Signs of Changing Climate and Peoples’ Perception

There are unequivocal evidences of changing climate in the era of Anthropocene at an unprecedented rate from global to local level. The worsening effects of such indications are irreversible on a timescale of today’s age and it will further deteriorate in the decades to come. Hence, this chapter aims to elaborate prominent signs of climate change in the area from meteorological, climatological and empirical databases. Temperature and rainfall anomaly, change in MSL, probability or recurrence of cyclones, fiercer storm and tidal surges are discussed, and peoples’ perception of changing climate are also appraised to better understand the menace.
