An Accessibility Review: Google Classroom

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Google Classroom was among the most used systems selected as the virtual learning environment by Brazilian federal universities. We performed automated analyses using government-recommended tools and manual Google Classroom analysis to assess the accessibility of the system. The present paper compared the results obtained in 2021 with new automated investigations conducted in March 2023 using the same tools: Access Monitor and Site Accessibility Evaluator and Simulator (ASES). The first did not present new updates in its operation, but the second reported that some features were not working at the time of testing. The Google Classroom platform launched some modifications during 2022 and the end of 2021.
