The Suspension Bridge

From the shallow cable theory presented in the previous chapter, it is only a short step to include eigenvalue calculations of a suspension bridge, because, if its cable planes are identical and vertical, the suspension bridge will behave as a combination of two cables and a beam. This chapter presents the theory of eigenvalue calculations of single-span suspension bridges.
