History of the International Center for Academic Integrity (ICAI): Exigence, Genesis, and Impact
摘要
While concerns about academic misconduct have existed as long as education itself, the USA had no one field of study, national association, or annual conference series focused exclusively on identifying, cultivating, and fostering academic integrity in higher and secondary education. This changed when the Center for Academic Integrity (later the International Center for Academic Integrity) was created in 1992 to address those needs. This chapter describes the exigence, genesis, and impact of the Center as a force to raise awareness, identify best practices, and build academic communities of practice committed to promoting and cultivating integrity in education.
