Kant, Innes, and the Copernican Turn in Monetary Theory

  • Aaron James

摘要

Kant’s conflicted account of money in the Doctrine of Right both anticipates later state money theories and curiously defers to Adam Smith. At the same time, his transcendental methods have had a lasting influence on monetary thought. In the case of A. Mitchell-Innes, the notion of a Copernican Turn posed a powerful challenge to the view of money shared by Smith and Kant.
