The Second Generation of Regional Chairs (2003–2011)
摘要
This chapter explores the second generation of NSERC Chairs for Women in Science and Engineering as they gradually took over from the first generation: Cecilia Moloney in the Atlantic region, Nadia Ghazzali in Quebec, Valerie Davidson in Ontario, Julita Vassileva in the Prairies, and Anne Condon on the West Coast. The group consolidated around requests to formalize the network and was successful in obtaining Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council funding for joint research projects as well as Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) funding for the creation of the National Network of NSERC Chair for Women in Science and Engineering (CWSE) Chairs in 2006. Several Chairholders engaged the provincial associations of professional engineers in their regions and presented the results of their work internationally.
