An Introduction to Stochastic Team Theory and Solutions to Static Teams

In this chapter, we present a general introduction to stochastic team theory, which may also be viewed as a prelude to Chaps. 3 – 7 . Our goal in this chapter is to lay the platform for the book to be accessible to an uninitiated reader, who will then be able to study the more technical chapters to follow. We present numerous results and examples, and introduce various concepts and problems which will all be studied in detail in the chapters to follow.
