Signaling Games: Equilibria Under Criteria or Prior Mismatch Between an Encoder and a Decoder

We consider in this chapter, and the two that follow, the setting where decision makers (DMs) have misaligned criteria or priors, but need to communicate over a communication channel. Such communication may lead to shaping, and sometimes manipulation, of the information received by the DMs, and leads to what is known as signaling games.
