Fatigue Endurance of Thin-Walled Cylindrical Shells Under Biaxial Combined Loading

摘要

The problem of determining the number of cycles to failure of thin-walled cylindrical shells due to multicycle fatigue under combined uniaxial tension-compression/torsion and bending/torsion loads is solved. Solutions are built based on the concept of equivalent stresses, the structure of which is given based on classical failure criteria. The criterion of maximum normal stresses, the criterion of maximum tangential stresses, and the criterion of the specific strain energy due to distortion were used as fracture criteria. The results of the calculations were tested experimentally.
