Trends in EV Charging Stations Infrastructure Development in Poland

Environmental issues and the need to reduce the consumption of fossil fuels have become a leading element of the contemporary socioeconomic policy of the European Union. One of the tools for implementing pro-environmental policy aimed at reducing the share of greenhouse gas emissions by the transport sector is the replacement of the combustion engine with an electric drive. Electric vehicles have a much smaller carbon footprint and are much less energy-intensive than combustion vehicles. However, a wider scale of use of electric vehicles in the realities of modern economies is determined by the charging stations infrastructure, characterised by specific features that can ensure smooth and uninterrupted operation of the BEV vehicle. The purpose of the article is to identify the development trends in charging stations infrastructure in Poland. Based on data characterising the current state of development of charging stations infrastructure in Poland, a diagnosis of its development trends was made, along with an attempt to identify potential threats.
