The article explores how cryptocurrency could revolutionize financing within Ukraine’s agricultural sector, specifically for processing enterprises. This sector, pivotal for numerous economies, grapples with financial challenges stemming from conventional funding methods—high interest rates, demanding collateral prerequisites, and prolonged approval procedures. Blockchain-based cryptocurrencies offer distinct advantages: transaction transparency, reduced costs, and the capability to execute global payments sans intermediaries. These benefits could significantly aid agricultural businesses seeking operational optimization and investment influx. The article delves into cryptocurrencies’ role in agriculture, discussing fundamental principles like Bitcoin, Ethereum, and their potential applicability in the sector. It particularly underscores the prospect of employing “smart contracts” to automate payments and risk management. Additionally, the authors address probable hurdles and constraints associated with implementing cryptocurrencies in agriculture, encompassing regulatory, educational needs for new technologies, and the risks tied to cryptocurrency price fluctuations.
