Overcoming Barriers in Circular Economy Implementation with Industry 4.0 Technologies: The Case of Defense Industry

The Circular Economy (CE) is an economic model designed to use resources sustainably and minimize waste. However, there are some barriers to the implementation of the circular economy. The aim of the study is to identify and prioritize the barriers to the implementation of the Circular Economy in the defense sector and propose Industry 4.0 (I4.0) technologies as possible solutions to these barriers. The study uses Fuzzy AHP, Fuzzy EDAS and Fuzzy MARCOS to assess the weights of the selected barriers and rank the selected technologies. It is concluded that the most common technology to overcome these barriers is Additive Manufacturing.
