摘要

The significance of the moment of inertia is underscored in static and dynamic structure calculations. Specifically, in the calculation of bending strength, the moment of inertia is to be considered. This value can be derived by employing specific formulas for the steel rectangular profile. In most sectors, the moment of inertia is calculated through theoretical methods to determine the maximum flexural stress. However, it should be noted that the yield and tensile stresses of steel undergo transformation subsequent to cold-forming bending processes due to strain hardening. In this scenario, the moment of inertia tends to be altered. Within the purview of this study, an examination was conducted on the transformation of the moment of inertia, contingent upon the strain hardening of rectangular profiles subjected to cold forming under defined conditions. Optimizations were performed by comparing real and simulation outputs using theoretical and test methods. The primary aim of this study is not only to ascertain the moment of inertia but also to assess the increase in stress that is induced by cold forming, with the intention of adapting these ratios for utilization in the design of static and dynamic structures.
