摘要

Teaching Mathematics in a University course remains a challenge for teachers. However, a panoply of trendy technologies, such as Artificial Intelligence and others, can be an important lever in the learning process. Adopting an AI-assisted approach will certainly benefit the learning process while allowing for a personalized student experience in the learning process. A proposed platform will enable a smart and individualized learning environment. With the support of online testing, an adaptative learning proposal can emerge. Taking into account each student, the solution will advise the best path for academic success. After the diagnosis of each online test, the student will be advised to direct the study focus to e-books and multimedia content and, subsequently, the teacher will be informed about the learning progress of each student. The first phase of the project conducted from March till July of the current year has enabled a preliminary prototype that implements the chatbot and sends notifications to the lecturer – in order to, at this moment of the project, suggest the best content for the student's progression. The path is moving into a totally autonomous platform that performs all the smart mathematics content adjustments to fulfill the learning needs of each student. This will go beyond all the innovative mathematics learning practices and the authors strongly believe that will be an important lever for a better learning environment.
