Metrics for Trustworthiness WebAPIs

Improving the trustworthiness of digital offerings is essential for sustainable digitization. Technically, many functions are realized with the help of WebAPIs. This paper describes the essence of trustworthiness of WebAPIs including the most important attributes. It also explains the development of metrics to determine the trustworthiness of Restful WebAPIs using the Goal Question Metric methodology in the context of software measurement. Specifically, the metrics, indicators, and sub-aspects are presented and placed in the context of a measurement concept. In the outlook, challenges and further research needs are identified.
