The Influence of Knowledge Management on Digital Transformation: An Overview for Managing Change and Innovation

摘要

Digital transformation (DT) is already playing a significant role in the business process reformation and the way organisations manage their operations for enhanced performance, which is influenced by knowledge management (KM). The organisational systems, operations supervision, strategic direction, knowledge management and corporate culture continuously disrupted by technological innovation. On the one hand, knowledge management stimulates the use of data science across different activities to enhance business operations. On the other hand, digital transformation plays a valuable role in each level of an organisation for greater business performance. For this reason, there is no surprise that research on the influence of knowledge management over digital transformation generates huge interest among academic and industry researchers. Business organisations confront with numerous challenges such as pandemic, cyber security, chatbot, market trends and continuous shifting customer behaviour. These ongoing changes stimulate organisations to apply knowledge-based strategy in their digital transformations to stay competitive in the constantly changing business environment. The primary objective of this paper is to carry out a systematic review by investigating the role of KM and its influence on DT while assessing how organisations managing change and innovation for their enhanced business performance. The secondary objective of the manuscript is to propose a collaborative framework that associates recent research manuscripts on DT to the exploratory studies of KM in context of managing change and innovation. This study provides an insight from the emerging technological development to the evolving KM perspective whereas the collaborative framework is simulated to deliver a logical base for future research studies towards enhanced business performance.
