Hypoxia and the Wheezing of Our Waters
摘要
This chapter covers the processes that contribute to hypoxia, with a focus on eutrophication and takes a look at a few of the best studied hypoxic zones, and then examines in more detail the impacts of hypoxia on nutrient cycling and plankton. While the focus has often been on what organisms die as a result of hypoxia, the complexity of hypoxia on nutrient cycles and planktonic organisms is far more complicated.
