Acquired immune deficiency syndrome is a chronic disease that is associated with a decline of the immune system. Individuals with AIDS develop various manifestations, commonly including the skin. Cutaneous manifestations help identify AIDS and its changes to disease progression. Skin manifestations such as Kaposi sarcoma, lymphoma, herpes, human papilloma virus, candida infections, Mycobacterium infections, eosinophilic folliculitis, papular pruritic eruptions, seborrheic dermatitis, psoriasis, prurigo nodularis, onychomycosis, longitudinal melanonychia, and chronic actinic dermatitis are associated with varying CD4 counts and HIV infection severity. This chapter details the cutaneous manifestations of AIDS in the aging patient and offers different treatment options.
