Pathologic Considerations in Geriatric Dermatology
摘要
This chapter examines the underlying extrinsic and intrinsic factors that contribute to the development of age-related skin changes from a pathophysiologic perspective. The extrinsic effects of solar radiation, air pollution, stress, smoking, sleep deprivation, temperature extremes, nutritional imbalances, and physical activity will be discussed along with associated skin changes. Intrinsic factors that contribute to skin aging will also be considered.
